Prepare for an unforgettable mountain excursion in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Grindelwald First combines spectacular alpine scenery, outdoor exploration and exciting adventure activities, making it a popular destination for visitors travelling to the Jungfrau Region.

Your experience begins in the picturesque village of Grindelwald, where you board the Firstbahn gondola. During the approximately 25-minute ascent, enjoy beautiful views of green alpine meadows, traditional mountain landscapes and the impressive surrounding peaks.

Once you arrive at First, at approximately 2,166 metres above sea level, take time to explore the mountain scenery and discover the famous First Cliff Walk presented by Tissot.

Walk the Famous First Cliff Walk

Experience one of Grindelwald’s most memorable attractions as you follow the First Cliff Walk along dramatic rock faces. The elevated walkway leads to a viewing platform extending approximately 45 metres out from the mountain, offering impressive views across the valley and surrounding Alps.

Continue to the First View observation platform for a different perspective of the Bernese Alps. It is an excellent place to enjoy the scenery and capture memorable holiday photographs.

Explore Alpine Hiking Trails

Grindelwald First is also an excellent starting point for mountain walks. If you enjoy hiking, follow the scenic trail towards Bachalpsee, a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by impressive mountain scenery.

The hike takes approximately 1 hour each way under typical conditions, depending on your pace and the trail conditions. Allow extra time to enjoy the lake and take photographs.
